Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How long will this filter last?
A. Your Everpure S 54 / WFA 12 filter systems produces 2835 litres of clean filtered water. In a typical family of 4 people, the filter will last for 12 months. However, the quality of your tap water does play a role - the worse the quality of your tap water the less filter life you will get as it will clog up faster.

Q. How fine/good is the filter?
A. Your Everpure S54 / WFA 12 filter system filters particles down to one half of a micron in size ! Half a micron is 200 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair.

Q. If we have another water crisis like the last one in Sydney will I have to boil my water again?
A. No, your Everpure Filter System is certified by NSF under Standard 53 for the removal of Cryptosporidium and Giardia, and Australian Standards approved for the same performance.

Q. What if we move home can I take the filter with me?
A. Yes you can. You simply turn off the water supply at the chrome isolation valve, unscrew the unit and have it re-installed by a plumber in your new home.
But what about the hole in the sink left by the tap ?
That’s easy, you can buy a stainless steel button from your local hardware store which covers the hole neatly.

Q. Can I connect the filtered water to my fridge?
A. Yes you can. It is done by simply installing a "tee" section in the filtered water line, so that one tube will go to the fridge and the other to the filter tap.

Q. Can I use another filter in this system?
A. No you can’t. To ensure that you maintain your NSF and Australian Standards rating only an Everpure cartridge will fit into the filter head assembly. Your unit is a complete system to comply with NSF and protect you and your family from any contaminants that may be in your drinking water.

Trouble Shooting

Q. My filtered water is a milky colour?
A. There is nothing wrong with your filtered water, its just that the filter cartridge has not been flushed for long enough and the milky colour is in fact compressed air. So to fix it, lift up the black lever on the filter tap and leave it open for 3 to 4 minutes as this will release all air from the system.

Q. There are tiny black particles in my water what is wrong?
A. There is nothing wrong with your filtered water, its just that the filter cartridge has not been flushed for long enough and some of the carbon powder which is left after manufacture is still present. So to fix this, lift up the black lever on the filter tap and leave it open for 3 minutes as this will fully activate the system and you will find that after doing this your filtered water will be sparkling clear.

Q. The water pressure coming out of my filter is very low/ poor/ weak, what is the problem?
A. Contact us on 1300 785 355

Q. There is no water coming out of my filter and we have only just moved in?
A. This is probably because your filter system has not yet been activated. Go to underneath your kitchen sink and you need to find a small chrome valve. This will be located very close to your cold water line and near the start of the blue tube. You need to check to see if the water is turned on. Once you have done this lift up the black lever on the filter tap and leave this on for 3 minutes. When 3 minutes is up you can push the black filter tap lever back down to its off position. There is no need to turn the valve off, you only need to do this when you change the filter cartridge.

Q. My filter is leaking?
A. Please shut off the water to your filter system. This will be located very close to your cold water line and near the start of the blue tube.
Contact your plumber or WFA on 1300 785 355.

Q. My filtered water just stopped coming out of the tap all of a sudden?
A. Do you have any building or council works going on in your area ? Because what sometimes happens is when council, for example, are cleaning the pipes, laying new pipes etc they can allow large waste deposits into the water lines and this will clog up your filter system. You might recall in the past noticing that the water out of your tap was brown and dirty in colour.

Your filter has provided you with protection against these waste materials, you will need to replace the filter cartridge.

But we don’t have any building going on at present.........contact WFA on 1300 785 3555.

Q. I have had my filtered water in the fridge and now it tastes funny?
A. Water is the best solvent on earth. If you leave water in the fridge without a proper seal / lid any smells or odours within your fridge will be absorbed by the water. The best solution is a container which has an air tight seal.
